FC Monmouth Announces New Coaching Staff For 2022 Season

John Killick, Simon Muckle, and Lee Drury will form the FC Monmouth coaching staff for the upcoming National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) season. After three straight seasons with Brian Woods at the helm, former Assistant Coach John Killick will now be leading the group as Head Coach. Simon Muckle and Lee Drury will be the Assistant Coaches on Killick’s staff.

FC Monmouth was founded in 2017 with the mission to connect, entertain, and inspire Monmouth County. The local community has always been an essential part of our approach, ranging from fielding talented local players to involving local youth soccer clubs as part of every home game, and in 2022 this will be even further emphasized with new initiatives to be announced. Therefore, we are very excited to have a coaching staff who works in local youth soccer in Monmouth County making a difference in our community every day.

John Killick, living in Colts Neck with his wife and kids, leads the FC Monmouth Youth Community Program year round supporting local town and travel programs with training to thousands of local kids every week. After playing himself at a semi-professional level in the UK, John obtained the UEFA B coaching license at the age of 18 and moved to the US, and since has coached at all different levels in New Jersey.

Simon Muckle, residing in Brick with his wife and son, currently is the Boys Varsity Coach at St Rose High School in Belmar and coaches two boys teams at Jersey Shore Boca and a girls team at Twin County SA. He played at both the collegiate and semi-professional level in England before moving to the US. Holding the USSF B coaching license, Simon has coached at all different levels in New Jersey, including experience at the Red Bull Academy, Cedar Stars Academy, and PDA Shore.

Lee Drury, living in Neptune with his wife, is Director of Coaching at Monmouth United SC. He both coached and played at professional youth academies and men's semi-professional clubs within the UK. With the USSF D license, Lee has run his own player development program and private sessions, supporting local New Jersey players to make the step to the professional level.

FC Monmouth will begin its fourth season in the NPSL this upcoming May. Tryouts for interested local players will be happening in January and will be announced soon on our website and social media channels.
